Cornea is the clear
transparent layer in front of the eye. It focuses light rays on the retina
( The sensitive layer of the eye). The curvature of cornea can be altered
with laser (LASIK) to eliminate the need of spectacles.
Injury, infections or other diseases can affect the transparency of the
cornea thus interfering with vision. Permanent Opacification of cornea can
be corrected by corneal transplantation.
