The Hospital has 5 Operation Theatres which are equipped with Operating Microscopes. Phaco Machines and Vitrectomy Machines apart from the regular surgical equipment. Each OT has 3 tables making it possible for 15 surgeries to be performed simultaneously. These OTs are supported by a Central Sterilization Department, adequate Paramedical Staff and Wards for pre and post operative care.
On an average. 20 to 30 Cataract surgeries are performed each day during the lean summer months and around 40 to 80 in the peak season. More than 80% of these cases are from the poor and rural sections. The maximam capacity of the hospital in to perform approximately 10,000 operations of all types per year.
The Hospital offers various packages of different denominations for Cataract and other Ocular Surgeries. Sponsored surgeries for the poor cost Rs. 1500/-. For patients from the upper section, the package ranges from Rs. 5.000/- to Rs. 40,000/- depending on the type of surgery, quality of Intraocular Lens and hospital Facilities.
In the financial year 2006-07, a total number of 9,527 surgeries were performed at ICARE Hospital. These mainly included Cataract extraction with IOL implantation by the Phacoemulsification technique (Stitchless Cataract Suegery). ICARE has thus earned the distinction of being one of the hospitals in Northern India to achieve such high volumes in Cataract surgery. Till date the hospital has performed over 86,985 surgeries.
The AMO's Visx Star S4 Excimer Laser System Wavescan Wavefront LASIK Machine installed at our Laser Vision Correction Centre is the only LASIK Machine in Noida and neighbouring areas. |
