Dr.-Geetha

Dr Geetha Srinivasan (MBBS, MS DNB) completed her graduation (1987-92) and post- graduation from the Armed Forces Medical College Pune. She was the recipient of the BD Sardesai Award for standing first in the University. She completed her specialization from All India Institute of Medical Sciences. She is an invited faculty at the various national Conferences CME and workshops in Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology. Before her present career path, she has served in the Army Medical Corp and was awarded the High Altitude medal 1997.

Teaching and training: She has been associated with teaching and training of residents and DNB fellows. She has also been associated with training and conducting examinations as an internal and external examiner for bachelor of optometry course conducted by IGNOU and thesis guide for Masters in Optometry Course conducted by Amity University. She was involved with Vision Technician training as program manager.

Areas of Interest and Expertise:

Strabismus and eye movement disorders, amblyopia (lazy eyes), Orthoptics, Neuroophthalmology, pediatric eye disorders.

Publications/ Presentations/Awards:

She has 16 publications in peer reviewed journals.
She is a reviewer for Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, Delhi Ophthalmic Society Journal and Delhi Journal of Ophthalmology.
Presently she is the Section Editor of Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology for the journal of Delhi Ophthalmological Society.
She has been involved in Poster/ presentations / Instruction courses at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, All India Ophthalmic Society, Strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology Society of India, World Ophthalmic Society and Delhi Ophthalmological Society.
She has contributed chapters in books on Anterior segment and Ophthalmic Imaging.
She has participated in the Delhi Ophthalmic Society teaching program as well as Instruction Courses.
She has been awarded the Asia Arvo award for best presentation 2007, AC Agarwal trophy 2006, Best presentation at National Conference Ahmedabad 2005 and Best Senior Research Associate at AIIMS.
She is presently analyzing the role of Imaging in strabismus and amblyopia.
